macOS Privacy Tools for Screen Sharing Protection
macOS provides system-level APIs for controlling window visibility during screen sharing sessions. These APIs determine which windows appear in screen captures, recordings, and shared displays.
macOS provides a window-level privacy mechanism that controls whether a given window is visible to capture and enumeration APIs. When set, screenshots, recordings, and screen shares see only the other windows on screen. Fracture uses this mechanism to create a private overlay for AI assistants. The overlay supports ChatGPT, Claude, and local AI through Ollama, with keyboard relay for seamless input.
Need reference access during your exam?
Fracture runs a native floating overlay that sets the macOS window privacy flag. It is 100% excluded from screen capture feeds, window lists, and proctor recordings.
