Tested with LockDown Browser v2.1.6.01
Proctorio monitors exams through browser extensions that capture screen content. Fracture provides AI access through a system-level overlay window.
Since Proctorio runs as a Chrome extension, it uses browser-level screen capture APIs. Fracture operates at the macOS system level, below what browser extensions can access. The overlay is excluded from screen recordings. Press ⌥⇧H to toggle the AI overlay.
The Safe macOS Solution
Need reference access during your exam?
Fracture runs a native floating overlay that sets the macOS window privacy flag. It is 100% excluded from screen capture feeds, window lists, and proctor recordings.
